FUNDING
CREST is a non-profit, faith organisation whose funds for operations and projects come from free-will contributions. Our funds are managed in the account of Crisis Relief Services & Training Berhad, a company limited by guarantee (a company that has no personal shares specially constituted under the Companies Act 1965 for the establishment and operation of non-profit institutions and charitable foundations). Since its inception in 1999, CREST has channeled 100% of all donations and contributions received for projects towards getting needed supplies to people in need. No part of project funds have been used for staff salaries or operational overheads. We have a separate fund called Operations Fund, for administration and operational overheads. Any excess funds in operations are also channeled into projects as needs arise. This way, as much as possible of all donations received can be channeled to the people in need. The work of CREST is undertaken mostly by non-salaried volunteers. We are determined to keep our overheads and other operational costs as low as possible so that as much donations and contributions as possible can be channeled to the people in need. All donations to CREST are duly receipted and accounted for, and its accounts audited and open for inspection. Realising the possibility and frequency of abuse in the distribution of supplies, we are committed to ensure as far as possible that all aid is personally accompanied and transported to where it is intended and its use and distribution closely monitored. We appreciate your contribution and partnership with us in the work that we are doing. When making a cheque or draft payment please make it payable to “Crisis Relief Services & Training Berhad” and write at the back of the cheque/draft the name of the project to which you are giving (eg. Karens, Bangladesh, etc.). If you wish to leave it to our discretion to allocate the unds to where the needs are greates, or if you wish to give towards our operational overheads, please mark the cheque/draft “operations”
